With Christmas a few months away it is time to give some serious thought to shopping and gifting plans. If you are someone who prefers to spend on useful things and have a tight budget we have a few Frugal Christmas Shopping ideas for you!
- Make a list of people you plan to buy gifts for. Try and restrict gifting to close family and friends. Send e-greetings to colleagues and acquaintances who are not so dear. Make phone calls to distant aunts and uncles. A personal wish is always better than an unnecessarily expensive present!
-
Visit traditional Christmas Markets for fun but do all your shopping online! That way you can keep yourself from ‘on the spot unnecessary splurging!
-
Have a clear budget and do not exceed it under any circumstance. Try and ration the budget for various expenses. Make use of an Excel Sheet on your computer. There is no better way to keep track of what you are spending and why?
-
Limit your expenditure on decorations. In most cases families wrap up Christmas toys and decorations and store them for reuse. You can always buy fresh fir, flowers and wreaths; but mostly try and reuse old decorations creatively.
-
Almost all retail outlets and online marts offer special Christmas sales and discounts. Take advantage and go for discounted stuff.
