Handmade Christmas Stockings |
Add that extra warmth and personal touch to your Christmas gifts and decorations this year. Knit or sew handmade Christmas stockings! You can make tiny stockings and string them to form a streamer and decorate the walls of your living room. Or make a few colourful stockings stick trimmings on them and hang them on to the X Mas tree.
If you are short of time or aren’t too good at knitting, no worries just get your hands on some old patterned fabrics, plain red cloth or even a white or cream fabric. Trace the pattern of a stocking on a tracing paper. Keep them on a fabric of your choice and then cut out the pieces. Use a good sewing machine to stitch the pieces together.
If you have unused laces lying at home tack it on to the edges of your patterned cloth stockings. Make little red bows with thin satin ribbons and glue them on as well. Use attractive ribbons and trimmings to spice up the look and then hang your stockings either on the tree or on your door! You can even fill them up with chocolates and gift them to a dear one!
If you have unused crepe papers lying at home cut them into stocking shapes and stick lace on the edges. Add glitter and stick a bow on each little paper stocking. String them on a thread to form a streamer and wrap it around your X Mas tree for effect.
