Christmas Crafts have become an integral part of the Christmas decorations. Children of all ages get involved with the making of Christmas crafts. The crafts of Christmas differ from each other in all aspects.
The Kindergarten Christmas Crafts .as the name suggests are crafts that can be made by children easily as they require less time as well as less effort.
Try to make the following Kindergarten Christmas Crafts.
Candy Cane Cookies or Gingerbread Cookies
Materials Needed
- 1 cup of softened butter or margarine
- 1 cup of confectioner's sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp. of almond extract
- 1 tsp. of vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 tsp. of salt
- Red food coloring
Procedure
- Mix butter, confectioner's sugar, egg and flavorings together. Mix in salt and flour. Divide dough in half. Add red food coloring to half of the dough.
- Give each child a small ball of red dough and plain dough. Have them roll each ball into a snake. Demonstrate how to weave these two colors over each other to make a candy cane cookie to the child.
- Bake on a buttered cookie sheet at 375 for about 10 minutes until they are lightly browned. Makes about 3 - 4 dozen cookies.
Christmas Craft Dough Ornaments –Oatmeal Clay
Materials Needed
- I cup of rolled oats (instant or old fashioned)
- 2/3 cup of flour (possibly more)
- 1/2 cup of water
- Food coloring
Procedure:
- Mix all the ingredients together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until it is smooth and not sticky .
- Give each child a ball of dough.
- Have them roll it out and cut it out according to what shape you wish.
- It takes 1 or 2 days to dry. Make a hole at the top to insert something to hang the ornament with.
- Add the decorations.
- If you have avoided food coloring then paint it.
