This Christmas, decorate with hand made paper decors. Here are some samples and easy steps to make them:
- Three Dimensional Christmas Tree
Things you will need:
- Green construction paper
- Crayons, markers, glitter glue, or tempera paint
- Scissors
- Clear tape
- Optional: Other colors of construction paper, glue, hole punch, stickers
Instructions:
- Fold a piece of green construction paper in half, then cut it in half
- Put the two pieces together, and fold them in half again.
- Draw half a Christmas tree opposite the fold
- Cut along the line to get two identical trees.
- Fold the trees in half, just barely creasing the center line
- Cut a slit along the bottom half of the center of one tree and along the top half of the center of the other tree.
- Slip the two trees together along the slits.
- Using clear tape, tape the bottoms and tops together
- Decorate your tree with crayons, markers, glitter glue, or tempera paint.
- You can also glue on tiny construction paper decorations or use star stickers.
- You can cut out tiny paper balls using a Hole punch.
- Cut out a small construction paper star and cut a tiny slit in it.
- Put the star on the top of the tree as Christmas tree topper.
- Now you have a really nice 3-dimensional Christmas decoration.
- Paper Christmas Signpost
Things you will need:
- Thick sheet of paper and red and green colored papers
- A large craft stick
- Craft Knife
- Permanent marker
- White glitter
- 5-inch piece of ribbon.
- Glue
Instructions:
- Coat a large craft stick (up to 5 inches long) with white acrylic paint and another with green paint.
- Let them dry
- Then add stripes of red paint to the white stick.
- Use a craft knife to cut a 3-inch section from the green stick, notching each end to create an arrow shape. Write "North Pole" on the sign in permanent marker
- Then glue the sign to the red-and-white craft stick.
- Cut shapes of felt holly leaves from green paper red mini pom-pom berries from red paper.
- Glue these on to the red-and-white craft stick
- Add dribs of white paint, and then sprinkle on white glitter to give the effect of snow.
- Finally, glue both ends of a 5-inch piece of ribbon to the back of the signpost for a hanger and let the glue dry.
- This would be a perfect Christmas paper decoration hanging from your Christmas tree and pointing the way to Santa's place.
