- Handcrafted Snowman Ornaments
Materials Required
- Cosmetic Cotton Rounds that are used to remove make-up
- Toddler socks
- Black and orange Fabric Paint
- Thin Ribbon
- Glue
- Pin back or thread for a hanger
- Fabric stiffener
- Holiday trinket as an ornament in the hat
Steps:
- Place cotton rounds on wax paper or heat safe plate or tray.
- Dab fabric stiffener on the front until it is wet and flat.
- Turn over and dab the back.
- Place the plate over the heater until the cotton rounds are hard and dry.
- Cut the foot off the toddler socks, just above the heel.
- The circular tube that is left will be the snowman's hat.
- Glue the top of the sock to the cotton round, with the cut end up.
- Tie a holiday ribbon on the hat.
- With fabric paints, make two black "beady" eyes and five beads for the smile.
- Add an orange carrot. Let it dry.
- Glue a holiday trinket or a cute button on the hat.
- Finally, glue a pin back to the back of the snowman or take some thread and attach it to the top of the hat to use as a Christmas tree trim or hang up as a Handcrafted Christmas decoration.
- Handcrafted Smiley Snowflake Ornament
Materials Required:
- White craft fun foam
- Small goggle eyes
- Tacky craft glue
- 2 tiny pink pompoms or pink blusher
- Black or red marker
- Paper punch
- Scissors
- String
- Printed snowflake pattern
- Print the free smiley snowflake pattern and cut out the pattern.
- Use this paper snowflake to trace the pattern onto white craft fun foam.
- Make two identical patterns and cut them both out of the fun foam.
- Next, place one snowflake over the other, offset so that the points of the snowflakes do not overlap.
- Glue the two snowflakes together with tacky craft glue.
- With the paper punch, make a hole at the top of the snowflake.
- Glue on two small googly eyes (or draw your own eyes).
- Glue on two small pink pompoms for cheeks.
- If you don't have any pompoms, you can smudge on a very small amount of pink blush makeup as cheeks, or color lightly with pink paint or crayon.
- Finish your Smiley Snowflake Christmas Ornament by using a black or red marker to draw on a smile.
