Christmas Dog Poems

Show your little poochi, you care by dedicating a beautiful Christmas dog poem to him on the very special day. Christmas is all about fun, frolic and merriment. Strolling around the park in ankle deep snow in an overcoat is fun but how can you forget little Tim, who is waiting so very eagerly for you to take him out for a walk.

Man's best friend deserves as much attention as you would think of showing to your near and dear ones cause he is as much, a member of your family as others are. That extra pat, a little bit of extra cookies and a munchy bone with a ribbon tied round it, is the bare minimum you can do for the unconditional love he showers on you.

If you happen to be a dog lover these would seem as quite natural to you. But for someone who hasn't had a dog ever, it might mean going a little too overboard for a dog. But once you develop a compassion for them, you wouldn't feel the same. When the rest of the house is rejoicing and exchanging gifts, hugs and good wishes for the coming year, make him a part of your celebrations by devoting a dog poem to him. You don't have to be a poet nor are you required to have an overflowing vocabulary. Victorian English, drop-dead lyrics is not being asked for. Simply the ability to compose your thoughts and most importantly the depth of your emotions are what you require. It's never too late to express your care and affection to your dear doggie.

Why own a dog? There's a danger you know,
You can't own just one, for the craving will grow.
There's no doubt they're addictive, wherein lies the danger.
While living with lots, you'll grow poorer and stranger.
One dog is no trouble, and two are so funny.
The third one is easy; the fourth one's a honey.
The fifth one is delightful; the sixth one's a breeze,
You find you can live with a houseful with ease.
So how 'bout another? Would you really dare?
They're really quite easy but oh, Lord the hair!
With dogs on the sofa and dogs on the bed,
And crates in the kitchen, it's no bother you said.
They're really no trouble their manners are great.
What's one more dog and just one more crate?
The sofa is hairy; the windows are crusty,
The floor is all footprints, the furniture all dusty.
The housekeeping suffers, but what do you care?
Who minds a few nose prints and a little more hair?
So let's keep a puppy, you can always find room,
And a little more time for the dust cloth and broom.
There's hardly a limit to the dogs you can add,
The thought of a cutback sure makes you sad.
Each one is so special, so useful, so funny,
The vet, the food bill grows larger, you owe money,
Your folks never visit; few friends come to stay,
Except other dog folks, who live all the same way.
Your lawn has now died, and your shrubs are dead too,
But your weekends are busy, your off with your crew.
