New Year Eve
New Year Eve is when most people gear up for a grand celebration. Social gatherings and New Year Eve parties are what that dominate the day. New Year parties are the places where people thoroughly enjoy each and every passing moment with unbounded cheer and joy. In many places, New Year Eve fireworks are organized to mark the transition from one year to the next!
New Year’s Day
On the New Year’s Day, people wear new dresses and go to meet near and dear ones. They decorate their houses. In many places, the New Year day tradition of “first footing” is observed, where people do not leave their houses until someone else comes in first. The person who comes in first, gets a warm welcome as well as a gift.
New Year is also the time to wish your loved ones all the very best for the coming days. On the New Year’s Day, people greet and wish each other. Gifts are also exchanged. Cakes, flowers, chocolates and decorative items are in great demand as gift items.
It is quite common for people to visit astrologers. In fact in certain cultures it is an absolute must. People try and figure out what’s in store for them during the ensuing 365 days.
