Jimmy Eat World refers to a music band formed in 1993 in the United States. The band consists of members named Jim Adkins, Tom Linton, Rick Burch and Zach Lind. The name of the band happened to be so in a most dramatic way. It has not been named after its lead singer Jim Adkins.
It was actually the constant fight between two younger siblings of Tom Linton that led band to be called as Jimmy Eat World.
As kids, the two brothers used to fight always in which, the elder brother Jimmy would always win, as he was stronger than the younger Ed. Eight years old Ed, as revenge, drew with crayons a picture of Jimmy putting the entire world into his mouth with the caption "Jimmy Eat World". This is how the band name "Jimmy Eat World" came into being.
Jimmy Eat World is associated with an array of music genre including Emo, Rock, Alternative Rock and Pop Punk. Jimmy Eat World Last Christmas is one such song by them in which, they have omitted some parts of the original lyrics of Last Christmas by Wham and presented it prodigiously in a new form.
