The Christmas Box International partners with local, national and international communities and groups to prevent child abuse and to improve the quality of life for children. Beginning in 1997 The Christmas Box Foundation, with support from the community, agreed to fund and build a new shelter intake, assessment and residential facility.
The arrangements have enhanced services to the children and reflect a state wide replica for delivery of best practice assessment and treatment aid to victims of child abuse. The services include round- the- clock emergency residential services to children who have been removed from their homes due to neglect, or a foster care placement failure. Intake and assessment services, based on a multi-disciplinary treatment, are available for youth to address their emotional, physical, and educational and placement needs. The Residential Unit of the organization provides specialized care for children. It provides state-of-the-art all-inclusive services, which reflect best practice and novel break throughs in childcare. Children in foster and shelter care are free to purchase free holiday gifts for their loved ones, at no-cost for their care-taking family. The operations are sponsored by Salt Lake County Division of Youth Services and Shelter Kids, The Christmas Box House International, and Utah Foster Care Foundation.
