The concept of an acrostic poem is a bit different from normal poetry. The letters of a word are written down vertically. Each letter forms the beginning of a line. For example: the main word is Merry Christmas the poem will be something like this:
M— Miraculous
E— Ecstatic
R— Reverent
R— Rocking
Y— Yuletide
C— Christ the lord was born
H— Happy tidings for all
R— Reindeer steer santa’ sleigh
I— Ice and snow lie all the way
S— Surprise us all with gifts and lights
T— To make our Christmas full of life
M— May you all be as happy
A— At Christmastide!
S— Season’s greetings to all!
