All of us are quite familiar with Christmas candy and cookie recipes, as right from the days of our childhood we were made to acquaint ourselves to the age-old tradition of exchanging cookies and candies during the festive season. Cookies and candies are an integral part of our holiday traditions and they serve as excellent Christmas showers.
Most of the stores are loaded with goodies and niceties during this time of the year and you are likely to stumble upon some of the best varieties of mouthwatering cookies and candies. But if you have decided on a frugal Christmas this year, we have a solution for you. Many a folks are of the opinion that, home made cookies and candies lack the quality and the taste that machine candies embody. But this is an errorous assumption as an excellently executed home made candy is as delicious as a manufactured one and many a times tastes far better than the store varieties. We are all quite used to cookies, candies, biscottis, wafer cookies and the list goes on and on. But how about a cookie that gives you the feel of a candy? That way you get to taste the best of both the heavenly delights. Here we are, providing you with the recipe of the Andes Candy Cookies. Hope you enjoy preparing them and eating them too.

Andes Candy Cookies
Ingredients:
- 3 C. flour
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 C. sugar
- 1 C. softened butter
- 1/2 C. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 package andes candy
- walnut halves (optional)
Procedure:
Mix the butter and brown sugar and batter them until creamy. Add vanilla and eggs to this mix. Mix flour, soda, salt in a different container and blend it well with the butter mixture.
Drop scant teaspoonfuls of the mixture 2 inches apart on the non-greased cookie sheet. Place 1/2 a candy on top of each. When this is done cover it with a scant teaspoon of dough. Place a walnut half on top and smoothen the edges. Bake at 375° F for a maximum of 9 - 12 minutes.
