Christmas With The Kranks' is a comic movie, directed by Joe Roth, on Christmas that got released in 2004. The movie starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen is based on the story Skipping Christmas by John Grisham.
The storyline is about a couple, Luther Krank (Tim Allen) and Nora Krank (Jamie Lee Curtis), who decides to get away from Christmas trivia and go off to some tropical place for a vacation, as their daughter would not be home at Christmas. Because of this, they avoid setting up their Christmas tree and doing Christmas decorations on their house.
The situation worsens when Luther Krank refuses to put his illuminated frosty snowman on the rooftop. As a result, they have to face fury from neighbors since their street; the Hemlock Street is famous for the snowman and has also won many contests conducted by local newspapers. This battle between the Kranks and their neighbors become threatening to the harmony of the community and of course, the spirit of Christmas.
Suddenly, Luther and Nora Karnk receives a phone call from their daughter Blair in which, the daughter declares that she is planning to actually come home for Christmas. This creates a lot of havoc, as the Kranks must change plans of their vacation right before the holiday. Now, they have less than twenty-four hours to get themselves and their neighbors on Hemlock Street back to the spirit of Christmas.
