Mickey's Christmas Carol |
Charles Dickens' classic novel A Christmas Carol had been brilliantly adapted in an animated
movie of twenty-four minute, Mickey's Christmas Carol, which was produced and released in the United States by Walt Disney Productions in 1983.
The central character of the surly moneylender Ebenezer Scrooge was here presented as Scrooge Mc Duck and Bob Cratchit featured as the Mickey Mouse. While Donald Duck was Fred, Ebenezer Scrooge's nephew, Daisy Duck played Isabella.

The pivotal characters of the novel, those of the three ghost were Jimmy Cricket as Ghost of Christmas Past, Willie the Giant as Ghost of Christmas Present, and Black Pete as The Ghost of
Christmas Future. The charm of the animation, however, lies in the brilliance of scripting which provides for the inclusion of other popular Disney characters to feature in small roles. The movie opens with the three little pigs singing Christmas carols.Directed by Burny Mattinson, the Mickey's Christmas Carol was the first movie of the Mickey cartoon series, after The Simple Things,to be released after a long span of 30 years. It was even nominatd for the Academy Awards in the category of the Best Animated Short Subject.
