After that they return home and host a fabulous Christmas Eve party. They eat dinner and dessert; have a talent show, read scriptures, run the toy train, and converse for quite a while. They may also indulge in little fun tradition. One member of the family may read letters to Santa and burn them in the fireplace, since Santa can read smoke. Finally, gifts and chocolates are exchanged among friends and family. The gifts are unwrapped on the Christmas day morning.
Different parts of the world have different Christmas dishes prepared exclusively for the Christmas Eve party. In Germany roast carp forms a major part of the meal for the Christmas Eve Party while in Czech Republic it is a fish soup combined with breaded roasted carp and potato salad.
