Fudge Crispy Truffles are a great gift to carry when visiting family and friends - and they're super-easy to make as well! The preparation time is about 20 min. For the decoration time is about a quarter of an hour. You'll need unwrapped miniatures, milk, puffed cocoa cereal, finely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans), parchment or waxed paper, and confectioner's sugar.
Get started by roughly chopping the miniatures. In a heavy bottom pan, melt the candy with milk, stirring constantly until smooth. Once melted, remove the mixture immediately from heat. Stir in the puffed cocoa cereal, mixing thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto parchment-lined cookie sheets, making around 40 mounds. Cool for 5-10 minutes or until cool enough to touch. With buttered fingers, roll mound into inch-shaped balls. If desired, roll the balls in chopped nuts and/or confectioner's sugar, or simply leave them natural. In order to prepare for a guest count of around 40, this is a good truffle recipe to venture into. For all the news on Fudge Crispy Truffles, surf Christmas Carnivals.
